How does longevity work?

A: You receive longevity beginning at the start of your 15th year in the district. The longevity pay is a lump sum that you will receive in your first check of the school year. The rate increases every few years. Refer to your contract for specifics.

How do I reach Kelly Services?

To call out for leave time, visit the Frontline Solutions website and log in or call Kelly Services at 800-991-5157.

You can use the following codes to log an absence:

  • Sick: used for personal sick time or to care for a family member (limited to 5 days)

  • Personal: used for personal time (limited to 3 days and cannot adjoin a holiday or be taken in the first or last 2 weeks of school without approval)

  • Professional: used when you need a substitute because you have been assigned another professional responsibility during this time. (When this code is needed, an administrator should direct you to take time in this way.)

  • Bereavement: used for the loss of a loved one. Please refer to the contract for specifics on relation of the deceased to you.

If a student makes a physical attack on a teacher (pushing, hitting, etc.) but the teacher is uninjured, does the teacher need to complete any paperwork? 

If a student makes a physical attack on a teacher the teacher should complete an incident report even if they are uninjured. Incident reports should be available in each school’s main office.

If a teacher is out on maternity leave, are they responsible for the sub plans?

The absent teacher is not responsible for the sub plans.

Who do I contact when I am ready to retire?  

First contact the Teacher Retirement Board (TRB) at 1-800-504-1102. Then notify the Personnel Department of your intent to retire.

Who do I contact about a name change?

If your name has changed, notify the following:

Social Security, Bank Account, Teacher Certification Department, Personnel Department

What should a teacher who has a degree change do to make sure their pay is adjusted?

Teachers who have a degree change in a program approved by the superintendent or their designee should provide proof of program completion to the Personnel Department. Adjustments to pay are made twice a year (August and February). If a teacher misses the deadline, they will need to wait for the next deadline to receive the pay increase.

What is the process for technology equipment removal/discards from the media center? 

Custodian puts in a work order. Some discards (books) need to be approved by BOE. 

 

If there are school cancellations on Fridays, are those made up as teacher days at the end of the year for Alice Peck since students do not come on Fridays?

If a teacher day is missed, a teacher day is made up.

Do teachers who travel between schools during the day get travel time and mileage reimbursement?

Teachers who travel between schools each day get 30 minutes of travel time and mileage reimbursement. Mileage reimbursement forms should be available in each school’s main office.
